Primary Objective(s):
- To amalgamate the touch points from Phase 1 with active engagement and consultation with key Māori Stakeholders, to identify key Hawkes Bay Te Ao Māori principles on workforce planning and development in particular, and for iwi across the motu in general.
- To formulate a strategic framework that integrates the key Te Ao Māori principles into workforce planning and development, ensuring that this framework is reflective of, and responsive to, the cultural values, needs, and aspirations of Hawkes Bay Māori in particular.
- To enhance regional workforce strategies through the integration of Te Ao Māori perspectives, fostering a culturally informed model of workforce development that can be adapted for use nationwide.
- To ensure project alignment with “Te Haumako” core values and principles.
Abstract:
Phase 1 of this project involved a desktop literature review that informed high level findings and themes related to Maori perspectives on workforce planning and development in the Hawkes Bay region and nationally. Phase 2 takes those findings and themes and uses them to develop a detailed report on key Te Ao Māori principles and a framework for Māori workforce planning and development.
The final report is expected to be delivered by the end of June 2025
